Former Reps Leader Hails ACF On 2023, Says Its Boost For Obi

Erstwhile deputy minority leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Emmanuel Arigbe-Osula has commended the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF on its stance on the rotation of the presidency and the requisite of character in choosing the next president of the country saying it has strengthened his support for Peter Obi.

Arigbe-Osula in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday, February 20, 2023 while praising the communique of the ACF for its matured and patriotic commitment to a united nation said the prescription was another reason to vote Peter Obi, the only presidential candidate that fits into the description of the ACF.

The apex AFC had in a statement on Sunday said that “a leader does not have to come from our tribe, zone, region or religious persuasion,” adding “in our search for good leaders, we must cast our nets far beyond our ethnic, religious or geographical interests.”

“At each occasion such as this the key selection criteria we recommend to voters to consider are very clear and objective party manifestos and the character and track records of the candidates.

“Voters will do great disservice to themselves if they were to vote into offices persons they know, or should know, have no capacity to perform well, or are persons with questionable character.”

Reacting to the communique, Emmanuel Arigbe-Osula said:

“ACF’s call on Nigerians to put aside religion and regional tendencies is a definite endorsement of Peter Obi, the only presidential candidate whose character has not been questioned among the leading presidential candidates.

“I was guided by the same principles as identified by the ACF elders in throwing my support for Peter Obi and I respect the judgment of these elders as it has further strengthened my faith and confidence in my choice and support for Obi.

“I call on all Nigerians and our brothers and sisters in Northern Nigeria to give heed to the wisdom of the elders in the ACF and identify with the growing national consensus to build a new nation through the character and competence that the Northern elders have identified in Peter Obi.”
