Tony Nwoye Beating Stella Oduah, Obiano’s Wife In Anambra North
Former president of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS Dr Tony Nwoye has defeated the incumbent, Senator Stella Oduah and the immediate past First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs Obiano to the Anambra North Senate seat with six of the seven local government in the area reporting.
Dr Nwoye, a former member of the House of Representatives beat the two women among others for the Anambra North Senate seat flying the banner of Labour Party.
Senator Oduah flew the flag of the PDP while Mrs Obiano was the candidate of APGA.
According to details of the results from six local government areas, Nwoye has 83,607 votes and is trailed by Obiano who is polling 40,414 votes and Senator Oduah who is polling 39,655 votes.
GWG.ng reports that the election in Ogbaru was declared inconclusive but with the total votes from the area less than 20,000 that it is expected that Nwoye would be declared winner of the election with his gap between his nearest contender more than 40,000.
GWG.ng reports that Nwoye defeated the two major contenders in all five of the six local government areas with the notable exception of Ayamelum
