Bode George Mum As Japa Trends After Tinubu’s Victory

Japa was trending on Wednesday morning on twitter following the proclamation of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as president-elect but Chief Bode George one prominent Nigerian who had vowed to leave the country should the APC candidate emerge was still mum hours after the declaration.

GWG.ng reports that Chief George, a former deputy chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and political rival of Tinubu’s in Lagos had in the days leading to the election vowed to relocate from Nigeria should the former Lagos State governor emerge as winner of the poll.

“If by whatever chance he gets to the villa, I won’t be part of this country. And I am not joking. I can go to Ghana and be watching with binoculars from afar,” Bode George had said in a session with newsmen on March 19, 2022 on his intentions should Tinubu be president.

While Bode George has yet to respond on his intentions following the declaration of Tinubu as president-elect, many Nigerians were trending Japa on twitter.
