Chimamanda Adichie letter Biden

The camp of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has reacted to the feisty letter by celebrated novelist, Chimamanda Adichie to President Joe Biden asking him not to recognise the president-elect upon what she alleged as gross violations of the law and irregularities that marked the presidential election.

GWG.ng had reported that Chimamanda Adichie had in an open letter to President Biden accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC of vitiating the trust in it by Nigerians by what she alleged as foisting Tinubu as president-elect through manipulations of the election. She particularly flayed INEC chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu of reneging on plans for automatic transmission of results and not reviewing the reports of irregularities before affirming Tinubu as winner of the election.

Responding on Friday morning, Bayo Onanuga, director of publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, asked President Biden to ignore the open letter accusing the internationally acclaimed novelist of propagating the interest of her tribesman, Peter Obi.

GWG.ng reports that Chimamanda Adichie had not hidden her open support for Peter Obi.

Bayo Onanuga in his response tweeted on Friday morning:

While some again flayed Bayo Onanuga for bringing an ethnic dimension to his response, there were others who egged him on, on the claim that Chimamanda Adichie in her letter to Biden only betrayed her support for Peter Obi.

GWG.ng gathered some of the reactions to the response of the Tinubu camp to the Chimamanda Adichie letter to Biden.
