Killings, Kidnappings Happen In Kaduna Like No Where Else in Africa - Shehu Sani

A former senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the eighth senate, Shehu Sani has slammed the Governor Nasir El-Rufai-led Kaduna State Government over incessant attacks that has left many dead and others still in kidnappers’ den.

Sani noted that official figures confirm that the killings and kidnappings happen in Kaduna state on a basis never so seen or heard of in any part of Africa. According to data he shared, 125 people were killed and 80 others kidnapped in the last 60 days.

Sani said those saddled with responsibilities of addressing the security crisis in the state have also joined the people in prayers for solution.

The politician and human rights activities revealed this via his verified Twitter handle on Thursday.

Recall that the Kaduna State Government recently imposed a 24-hour curfew on Sabon Garin Nassarawa communities in the Chikun Local Government Area of the state following the killing of two persons.

According a short statement by the state commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, the curfew is with immediate effect.

Aruwan also said the decision was reached following a breakdown of law and order that led to loss of two lives in an incident of urban gang violence.

The commissioner added that security agencies have been directed to enforce the curfew in the area and restore order, while investigation into the incident has commenced.

“Nowhere in the whole of Africa is there a place where 125 people are killed and 80 were kidnapped in 60 days, according to official figures, other than in Kaduna. The leaders elected to solve the problem have joined the electorates in prayers for God to solve the problem,” Sani tweeted.
