Sensational Nigerian musician, Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema has surpassed Wizkid’s mark for the longest-running African song at the top of the Billboard World Digital Song Sales.

This week, Rema and Selena Gomez’s popular single, “Calm Down,” broke the previous record set by Wizkid and Tems’ 2020 single, “Essence,” which stayed at No. 1 for 17 weeks.

But this week, ‘Calm Down’ fell one spot to No. 5 on the main Billboard Hot 100 list.

The song, according to reports, became the highest-charting and longest-running Nigerian song in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart when it peaked at No. 4 last week.

The first song from Africa to chart, “Calm Down” landed at No. 5 on the official Billboard Song of the Summer list.
