Nwoye Soludo attack on Obi

Senator Tony Nwoye, Labour, Anambra North has urged Governor Charles Soludo to stop the attacks on Peter Obi by operatives of the Anambra State Government, saying that the Labour Party presidential candidate is the reason why the Igbo in Nigeria are still held in esteem.

Senator Nwoye spoke at a reception that had the three Anambra State senators in attendance. The video of Nwoye has since gone viral with comments hailing the senator over his stance against the backdrop of insinuations that Soludo and his aides were against the aspiration of Peter Obi to be president.

GWG.ng reports that Soludo had in an essay in November 2022 asserted that Peter Obi was a distraction in the presidential election observing that the Labour Party candidate “can’t and won’t win” the presidential election.

Soludo had alleged that Obi was essentially taking votes from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the advantage of the All Progressives Congress, APC. He went further to doubt the ability of Obi to win any state.

The article, however, stirred strong reactions and attacks on Governor Soludo who was chastised in several quarters for being petty and seeking to bring down his predecessor based on personal prejudice.

Senator Nwoye in the viral video, however, warned that the attacks on Obi had not stopped and to the applause of his audience urged Governor Soludo to stop his aides.
