Bauchi Emir Blows Hot, Gives 2-Week Ultimatum To District Heads

Worried by the spate of insecurity in his domain with alleged connivance of traditional rulers, the Emir of Ningi Emirate in Bauchi, Alh (Dr) Yunusa Muhammadu Dan yaya, has blown hot declaring that he will not hesitate to dethrone any traditional ruler implicated in connection with issue of insecurity in the Emirate.

The Emir also gave a two-week ultimatum to District Heads in the Emirate to end the issues of insecurity that have engulfed the area militating against the peaceful atmosphere.

Yunusa Muhammadu Dan Yaya expressed his worries when he summoned all the traditional rulers including over 1000 Wards Heads on Thursday in his Palace in Ningi.

The Emir noted that intelligence report at his disposal showed that some unpatriotic Wards Heads are assisting and or collaborating with criminals to perpetrate criminalities, warning at sacking anyone found wanton.

The Traditional Ruler noted, however, that the security report revealed that among the suspected ward heads are inviting their relatives to come to Ningi Emirate for kidnapping business.

He pointed out that the Emirate will conduct a proper screening to profile all the Wards Heads to fish out the bad eggs amongst them.

Yunusa Danyaya therefore warmed those involved to desist before the long arms of the law will catch up with them saying that no one implicated will be spared.

In his remarks, the Caretaker Chairman of Ningi local government area, Hon Ibrahim Zubairu, explained that following the measures taken and rearranging the security formation patterns has yielded positive results in the war against terrorism in the area.

Ibrahim Zubairu added that his Council in collaboration with security operatives embarked on sensitization campaigns to affected communities and enlightened them on their roles in curving insecurity menace.

The chairman appreciated the support from the state Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad saying that the council will complement to ensure no stone was left unturned in maintaining peace and tranquillity.

Speaking on behalf of the District Heads and other traditional rulers in the Emirate, Alh Ya’u Shehu Abubakar the District Head of Burra, commended the Emir for his unrelentless strides to maintain peace and harmony.

Alh Ya’u Abubakar said that they would abide by the directives of the emir to move the area to the promised land.

It be recalled that Ningi LGA has become the epicentre of banditry and kidnapping in Bauchi state as the Kidnappers have made huge money from ransom collection from the victims of kidnap while some others have been killed by the bandits.
