Etsako East LG Chairperson, Attoh Appoints Atu CPS

Mr Benjamin Atu, has been appointed Chief Press Secretary (CPS ) to the newly inaugurated chairman of Etsako East Local Government, Hon Princess Benedicta Attoh.  

The appointment,  according to the Chairman, is with immediate effect.  

Benjamin Atu boasts a rich and robust media/press management resume which includes; Chief Press Secretary to Dr. Ngozi Olejeme, former Chairman of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund  (NSITF); Senior Special Assistant to the Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, as well as immediate past Personal Assistant to Senator Francis Alimikhena, who represented Edo North Senatorial zone in the Nigerian Senate.

Mr. Atu started his media career at the Delta Broadcasting Service Asaba in 2004. He was a news cameraman, reporter, film editor, TV and Radio presenter, and producer of various popular television and radio programmes. 

He is a graduate of the Delta State University Abraka, and National Open University Abuja and has his Master’s degree  (M. Sc) from the University of Benin (Uniben)   Benin City. 

GWG.ng reports that the decision of the Etsako East LG chairperson, Attoh to appoint Atu as her CPS came as it was revealed that the embattled deputy governor of Edo State, Hon Philip Shaibu has relocated to the new office apportioned to him following the decision to relocate him outside the Government House from where he had operated over the years.

The decision is in the wings of the conflict between him and Governor Godwin Obaseki.
