Shaibu pity

Chris Azebamwan in this piece writes that the best way to enjoy what he asserts as the unfolding drama between the deputy governor of Edo State Comrade Philip Shaibu and Governor Obaseki is to get a bowl of popcorn and watch:

I don’t know how many people are following the unfolding drama of Philip Shaibu’s contrived confrontation with his boss Governor Godwin Obaseki. He is doing all he can to present himself as the victim and underdog in this fight.

Philip does not have  public sympathy with him at all as he would have wished and as he hoped.

It is generally held even outside political circles that the Governor gave him unprecedented latitude to operate, gave him so much power and consideration, ceded authority to him at the highest levels.

Philip is on record to have always treated his boss with disrespect and disdain. He comes late to an event where his boss is already seated and then goes round shaking hands and taking compliments like the prima donna.

To cap it all, there are those who believe Philip should pay for his sacrilegious conduct towards Comrade Oshiomhole, not for their political differences but for the outright insults like saying the Comrade who was supposedly a father to him, needed psychiatric management.

How To Enjoy The Philip Shaibu Drama

Philip is NEEDLESSLY ridiculing and humiliating himself in the public space. Obaseki’s white will not be stained or affected and even if it is, who cares. Philip would have collected his just desserts, his long overdue wotowoto.

My advice to watchers is get a bowl of popcorn 🍿, sit back and enjoy the show. I earlier predicted a comedy of errors by Philip and I have not been proved wrong.
