A group , Concerned Agbor Citizens (CAC), has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to listen to hired youths who are protesting against the nomination of Mr Chiedu Ebie as Chairman of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

In a statement signed by Mr. Echi Obue and Mr. Williams Eghebi, Chairman and Secretary respectively, CAC berated the , “Coalition of Niger Delta Elite Youths” who opposed the choice of President Tinubu.

According to the CAC, the decision of the faceless group to query the choice of Mr. Ebie as Chairman of NNDC clearly gave them away as hirelings with a predetermined agenda.

“We are saddened that a bunch of youths that pride themselves members of APC in Delta State could be that cheap to query the choice of their leader, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.  The last time we checked, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the President of Nigeria. He is not the President of APC. The entire country is therefore his constituency.”

Part of the statement reads:”The Coalition of Niger Delta Elite Youths was not smart in her argument. Mr. Chiedu Ebie hails from Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, one of the oil bearing/producing communities. Somebody from Ika South represent us as commissioner in the Delta State Oil Producing Area  Development Commission (DESOPADEC). To claim that Mr. Ebie is not qualified to chair NDDC Board is the height of intellectual malnutrition.”

In the opinion of the CAC, any person or group that positions to be used to truncate the confirmation of Mr. Ebie is an enemy of Delta State.

” There is no true Deltan that will not be unhappy with the condition  of federal roads and other public  utilities in the state. Appointing Mr. Ebie who has rich pedigree in legal, oil, political and human resources management to head NDDC is a smart choice. We are confident that neither President Tinubu nor the national assembly will give attention to the rabble-rousers. We are looking up to NDDC that will work tirelessly to attain the underlining objective of the interventionist agency.”

While advising the youths to resist their recruitment by inordinate politicians for selfish interest, the group said though it has no partisan preference, the support for the  common good of the majority remains her priority.
