Top Nigerian celebrities, on Friday, stormed the venue of the burial reception of the mother of Afrobeats star, Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid.

Recall the singer’s mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, died on August 18, 2023.

The singer and his sisters held a night of tributes in honour of the deceased, which took place on Thursday at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, and Casino, 6-8 Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The mother of the singer was thereafter buried after a funeral service at the RCCG City of David COD Church Road, Dideolu Estate, off, Ligali Ayorinde Street, Victoria Island, Lagos with high-profile persons, including clergymen, gathered at the church.

Amongst the dignitaries who stormed the reception were the Elegushi of Ikateland, Oba Saheed Elegushi, and Fuji icon, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, were also present.

Also, billionaire business man, Tony Elumelu also attended the event.

The musician had some of Nigeria’s biggest entertainers under one roof to identify with his family as they buried their matriarch.

Some of the top entertainers who graced the reception were, Rudeboi, Dbanj, Tiwa Savage, Osas Ighodaro, KimOprah, Mercy Eke, Banky W, Yeni Kuti, Eniola Badmus, Tiwa Savage, Pretty Mike, and Wande Coal.

A video of Oba Elegushi dancing with Wizkid while K1 de Ultimate, who was recently decorated as the Olori Omo Oba, has gone viral.
