Man, 23 Who Killed Mother For Not Giving Him Food Cools Off In Police Cell

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested one Akaninyene Sunday Isaac, ‘m’ , aged 23, for murdering his biological mother, one Christiana Sunday Isaac ‘f’, 55 years old, both of Oruk Uso Otoro Village in Abak Local Government Area.

Operatives of Abak Division,  arrested the suspect on the 11th of October, the police said in a statement.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and alleged that his mother failed to give him food for three days, hence, he used machete to inflict grievous injuries on her, leading to her death.

The police said that the suspect will have his day in court as soon as investigation is concluded.

A family source told our correspondent in the area that trouble started when the young requested money from his mother who has always given him anytime he asked. But on the fateful day, the mother told Akaninyene that there was no money with her.

This was said to have infuriated the young man who was supposed to take care of his mother, to pick up matchet and dealt with the mother who passed out before she could get medical attention.

The family member who described the incident as unfortunate said that the entire family is currently in a state of mourning following the incident as they described the deceased as a peaceful woman.

Meanwhile, Akaninyene Sunday Isaac is cooling his heels in the police cell with his mother now not available to provide him his daily food.
