NLC President Hospitalized After Being Beaten Up In Imo State (Photo)

Comrade Joe Ajaero, the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has been admitted to the hospital after he was beaten up by security men during a rally in Owerri, Imo State by organised labour.

NLC’s chief of communication and publicity, Comrade Benson Upah, said Ajaero has sustained more injuries in addition to having his right eye totally shut.

Ajaero, according to Upah, was brutalised further after being beaten, blindfolded, and transported to an unidentified location.

It was also reported that they also stole his phones, cash, and other personal belongings.

“At approximately 15:30 this evening, at the Police Hospital in Owerri, contact has been made with Congress President, Comrade Joe Ajaero. From there, he was taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri, where he is receiving medical attention,” Upah stated.
