Wike Gives Hint Of His Real Problems With Fubara

Wike Fubara mistake

Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and immediate past governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has given an insight into the problem between him and his successor, Simi Fubara linking it to an attempt by the incumbent governor to bring in strangers into the government.

Wike opened up when he received a delegation of governors of the People Democratic Party (PDP) where he asserted that he cannot be intimidated and that there was nothing wrong with the impeachment of the governor.

GWG.ng reports that chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi led the delegation that also included Caleb Muftwang (Plateau), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), and  Agbu Kefas (Traba).

Dismissing the contention that the crisis had to do with money he said that nobody could take away the political structure in the state.

“Nobody can intimidate me. If I want to do something, I will do it. Impeachment is not a military coup; it is provided under the Constitution. I’m not interested in all the rumours, money, this, and that. Rubbish. Absolute rubbish. I just left office how many months ago? And I’m FCT Minister, so which money?”

“But nobody can take away our political structure. No one. You cannot work and people will begin to bring enemies, those who fought you when you were struggling for the person to be in office. Nobody does that. I’m not a political ingrate, but don’t touch the political structure of the state. I will not shut my eyes,” Wike said of the real problem with Fubara.

The minister applauded the PDP governors for the intervention even as he restated his commitment to the agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
