Popular Nigerian Actor, Samanja Dies At 81

Veteran Nigerian actor, Usman Baba Pategi, popularly known as Samanja,  has died at 81.

GWG.ng gathered that the actor who was about one of the most popular thespians to have come out of Northern Nigeria died in the early hours of Sunday, at Garden City Hospital, in Kaduna after prolonged illness.

He was a retired Nigerian soldier and worked with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Kaduna national station.

He brought his soldierly instincts to bear in several drama presentations.

He left behind two wives and 14 children. His funeral was held at 10am at Jaafaru Rstate Juma’at mosque, Kabala Costain, Kaduna.
