Miss Blessing Nelson, representing Abia State, has secured the title of Miss Nigeria International 2023, receiving the crown from the outgoing Miss Nigeria at The Canyon Lekki Halls and Event Centre in Lagos State.

The Abia indigene and 200-level student from Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Edo State, surpassed 12 other finalists through rounds of displays in traditional, beach, and official wears. Miss Oluwatobi Fadayomi claimed the second position, earning the title of Miss Nigeria International Classic, while Miss Ephraim Christel Amanda emerged as Miss Nigeria International Tourism.

Expressing her joy, Nelson, the winner, remarked, “It has always been a dream to win, and today I emerged victorious; it shows that with the help of God and hard work, one can achieve anything.”

Brendan and Crusader Nigeria Limited, the pageant organizer, hailed the contest as remarkable, deeming it the continent’s top pageant. CEO Brendan Nsikak noted, “Most of the contestants brought out their A-list game to the pageant, right from the first day of camping to the finale.”

Wishing the winner a successful tenure, Nsikak disclosed that Miss Nelson would receive a monthly salary of N1.5 million, yearly endorsements from various brands, an all-expense-paid trip to the United States courtesy of Gonowtravels and Tours, and other consolation prizes. Miss Nelson will also represent Nigeria on the global stage.

Notable industry personalities were honored with awards for their outstanding contributions to society, recognizing their hard work and diligence in the industry. The event’s highlight was the announcement of Miss Abia as the official brand ambassador of Gonowtravels and Tours by the company’s CEO, Ishola OKIKIAYO.
