Nigerian singer Terry Apala has candidly shared the poignant story of his distant relationship with his father, revealing that their paths only crossed again after 17 years. The Apala crooner disclosed the details during an intimate conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo.

In the heartfelt revelation, Terry emphasized that his father had been absent from his life, leaving him and his brothers with their mother. The singer recounted the unexpected reunion with his father, who returned after 17 years, only to pass away on the very day he visited.

According to Terry, the reunion occurred when his father, who had been living a separate life, made a sudden appearance at their home in Mushin, Lagos. Despite being strong and healthy, Terry’s father expressed a desire to wait for Terry’s mother, even though she was not present at the time.

The singer recalled the emotional night spent with his father, during which he shared a bed with his junior brother. The next morning, Terry discovered his father was unwell and, tragically, witnessed him passing away.
