PDP Youth Leader Aspirant, Tafi Slams Tinubu Over Dubai Trip

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP chieftain, Hon  Silas Tafi has lamented what he described as the wastefulness of the All Progressives Congress, APC government of President Bola Tinubu in sponsoring a delegation of more than 1,400 persons to the ongoing Climate Summit in Dubai, COP28.

Tafi, who is also an aspirant for the position of the National Youth Leader in a statement made available to GWG.ng as such called on the leadership of the National Assembly to take note of the indiscretion and take necessary action.

Noting that a broke country should not be indulging in such extravaganza, Silas Tafi said:

“It is distressing and painful that the Tinubu/APC-led government has turned a blind eye to the plight of Nigerians with no concrete commitment towards the safety of lives of our citizens which is the primary duty of every Government.

“Instead, it has rather prioritised wastage of the scanty resourses and is crying about and runing from pillar to post to beg for loans and blaming preceding administrations.

“What business does a “Broke Country” have to gain for travelling with over one thousand four hundred (1,400) delegates to an event that twenty five (25) or at most fifty(50) people can attend and bring home all the needed impact or engagements?

“It is distressing that the APC government has turned it’s back on Nigerians with no concrete commitment towards giving Nigerians the dividends of democracy as it promised.

“Alas, you can’t give what you dont have,” he said.

Continuing, Silas Tafi said:

“The failure of the APC government to decisively act on the country’s economic slump is a testament to the APC led government’s insensitivity towards the wellbeing, safety and infact security of Nigerians, and therefore has created an atmosphere and feeling of absence of governance in the country”.
