UPDATE: NBA Names Lawyer In Alleged Wife Assault Video, Initiates Probe

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has commenced an investigation into the widely circulated video depicting a lawyer assaulting his wife in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state. The National Publicity Secretary of the Association, Akorede Habeeb Lawal, identified the lawyer as Ekere S. Ebong.

In a statement, Lawal disclosed that the President of the NBA, Yakubu Maikyau, has directed the Uyo branch of the association to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.

This inquiry aims to establish whether the lawyer’s actions constitute a case of professional misconduct.
