Bandits laying siege to the Abuja-Kaduna highway struck on Sunday night and kidnapped scores former Kaduna senator and activist, Senator Shehu Sani has reported.

Senator Shehu Sani disclosed on his X account that the bandits struck sometime around 9.00 pm.,

“Just when we felt safer, yesternight kidnappers returned to the Kaduna Abuja road. They blocked the road and abducted scores of persons around 9pm near Kateri village.

“Two of my  Honorable friends from both the ruling and opposition parties had to run through the bush like Usain Bolt”.

The senator assured that the attack was despite the heavy security presence along the route compared to what it used to be in the past.

Oga Mayor PCFR responded to the Senator’s post via his X handle, “When will the National Assembly sit up and make stiff penalties for kidnapping?

With the high rate of kidnappings and how much of a lucrative industry it has become, death penalty is the only solution.

Meanwhile, Shettima Said he will handle security while Tinubu handles the economy”.

Sani Rabiu Ademu said, “The penalty for kidnapping is death; it has been signed into law. Now the big question is, who is to enforce it when there’s no difference between the security and state actors.”

Oga Mayor PCFR replied, “It is only punishable by death if the victim dies but 15 years is the punishment for kidnapping,” said in response to the return of the bandits along the Abuja-Kaduna highway. Send Us A Press Statement Advertise With Us Contact Us
