‘No Gree for Anybody’ Police Warn Nigerian Youths To Stop New Slogan (Video)
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has sounded a cautionary note, warning that the popular slogan “no gree for anybody” circulating among youths could escalate into a national crisis. The catchphrase, which has gained widespread popularity on social media and the streets, has been humorously adopted as the unofficial nationwide motto for 2024.
During a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday, Muyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson for the police force, expressed concern based on intelligence reports, stating that the seemingly innocuous phrase could have severe consequences for the country.
Adejobi highlighted the gravity of the situation, emphasizing that although the catchphrase may be perceived as “normal talk,” security experts view it as a “dangerous” slogan with the potential to trigger crises nationwide.
“The new slogan for 2024 for young people is ‘no dey gree for anybody’,” Adejobi revealed. “We have been informed from our intelligence that this is coming from the retributionary sector that might likely cause problems across the country. ‘No dey gree for anybody’ is being seen as just normal talk. In the security community, we have seen it as a very dangerous slogan that can trigger crises.”
