Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, experienced a brutal attack on Monday morning in Lekki, Lagos. Several videos circulating online depicted the singer being surrounded and assaulted by a group of aggressive men, resulting in a swollen eye that necessitated a hospital visit for treatment.

Contrary to speculations circulating online that Portable allegedly failed to perform at a paid show as the cause of the attack, the singer took to the Insta-stories section of his official Instagram page to set the record straight. In the videos, he revealed a different side of the story, shedding light on the circumstances leading to the assault.

Portable explained that two American-based singers approached him through his manager last year for a music collaboration. He was reportedly paid N2.5 million for a music video shoot, and recently, he was invited to their house for the video.

According to the singer, he requested additional compensation due to changes in his charges for the new year and was given N2 million. After completing the video shoot, the two singers, along with their team of 40 members, allegedly confronted him, demanding a refund.
