‘New Decision Made’, Osimhen Says Amid Chelsea Transfer Rumour

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, a target for Chelsea, has disclosed that he has already made a decision about his future beyond this season, hinting at an imminent move. Despite signing a contract extension with Napoli last month until 2026, Osimhen’s decision seems to indicate a potential departure, with Chelsea expressing interest in the Super Eagles striker.

While Osimhen’s new Napoli deal includes a release clause of approximately £112 million, he expressed his intention to take a “next step” in his career. In an interview with CBS Sports, he stated, “I already made up my mind. I already have my plan, I know what I want to do, the next step I want to take.”

Acknowledging the widespread rumors linking him with a move to the Premier League, Osimhen emphasized the league’s global prominence, with 60% of the speculation revolving around a potential English top-flight transfer. He aims to conclude the current season strongly with Napoli before executing the decision he has already made.

Despite Chelsea’s pursuit of a striker and reports suggesting interest in Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, the Blues are not pursuing a move for him. Chelsea’s focus remains on Osimhen and Ivan Toney, though both are considered expensive options and are not deemed realistic choices for the January transfer window.

Earlier this month, Osimhen refuted claims of a potential move to Saudi Arabia in the summer. Furthermore, he expressed a definitive desire to play in the Premier League before concluding his football career, stating, “Of course one day, definitely,” when asked about the possibility of joining the English league, emphasizing his long-term aspirations in English football.
