Donald Trump is projected to win the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary and with it, becomes the first non-incumbent contender in modern history to win the first two states in the race for the ticket.

GWG.ng reports that Trump won the Iowa caucus a week ago in canter and with almost 90% of the vote counted, the former president had 54% of the total votes in stock with his only contender, Ms Nikki Haley coming up with 43%.

However, Haley is not giving up and is headed to South Carolina, her home state where the next primary comes up on February 24.

“This race is far from over”, she said adding: “I’m a fighter and I’m scrappy.”

GWG.ng reports that Haley who was the immediate past governor of South Carolina and who served as President Trump’s permanent representative to the United Nations is hoping to keep herself in the race with the hope that the plethora of legal and judicial cases around the former president could give her a push to grab the ticket.

Haley is also riding on nationwide polls that show that she could easily beat President Joe Biden in the main election, but that Trump could be liable to defeat.

Trump was, however, dismissive of her in his victory speech following the New Hampshire primary win, calling his former appointee an impostor.

The result of the New Hampshire win means Trump is almost certain to be the Republican nominee in November’s election – where he’s likely to face President Joe Biden
