All Progressives Congress, APC governorship aspirant in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has opened up on the changing dynamics in his relationship with Senator Adams Oshiomhole explaining that reports of a rift between the two of them as fathom.

Ize-Iyamu who contested the governorship election in 2016 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP following a rift with the former governor, however, confirmed that he was backed for his aspiration in 2020 in the APC by Oshiomhole.

He, however, pooh-poohed arguments that he had been rejected this time by Oshiomhole saying that the suggestions of discord between him and the comrade-senator were being skewed under the wrong narrative.

Ize-Iyamu, a provincial pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG also brought a new light into zoning arguing that his part of Edo South in Orhionmwon Local Government Area like the people of Owan and Akoko Edo have also been denied the governorship slot despite the office having been enjoyed by their different senatorial zones.

GWG.ng reports that Ize-Iyamu spoke in an interview on Arise News on Thursday.

Speaking on political prowess, he said:

“Twice the two biggest parties in the state have said, Pastor be our candidate. I am not somebody that anybody can shove aside. I am somebody that is deeply rooted. They know me, they trust me and they see me as a homeboy. They see me as somebody that has a clear cut agenda about how to solve the problems of the state.”

On his relationship with Senator Oshiomhole and suggestions that the former governor was trying to sabotage his aspiration, and hence a rift between them, Ize-Iyamu said:

“Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, distinguished senator and our leader is a good friend of mine. We have come a long way. He is a man with a strong character just like myself and anybody who knows our relationship knows that we often disagree to agree. So, the reality is that any disagreement between us cannot be seen as a rift.

“Those who are saying that he is not supporting me are saying what I may not know because our primaries is going to be 17th of February. I know that what Comrade desires the most is that the APC will win the state.

“You said that he supported me in 2020, but the first time in 2016 he didn’t support me. So, life is dynamic, so what makes you think that as we go down the line that he will not support me? What I need to do is to talk to him, to lobby him and tell him that our chances of winning lies on me.”

Asked on who the person that is being brought from outside? He said:
“You know I am not in PDP and at my age I must be too careful not to speculate too much. So, I cannot categorically say, but we hear all kinds of names.”
