TB Joshua’s Legacy In New Trouble As YouTube Removes Emmanuel TV

On BBC documentary on TB Joshua

In response to the recent sexual and assault allegations surrounding the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nation (SCOAN), Prophet TB Joshua, YouTube has taken down the church’s main channel, Emmanuel TV. The channel served as a platform for broadcasting religious activities conducted by SCOAN.

The removal follows the controversial documentary by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), shedding light on accusations of torture and rape linked to TB Joshua. YouTube clarified that the termination of the flagged channel was due to a violation of its hate speech policies.

Recall that in April 15, 2021, GWG.ng reported that the same Emmanuel TV YouTube channel was suspended. According to YouTube official, the suspension was due to hate speech.

In a statement, YouTube stated, “The flagged channel was terminated for violating our hate speech policies.” The platform explicitly prohibits cyberbullying, harassment, and any form of mistreatment against survivors of sexual violence.

GWG.ng reported earlier last month, that the BBC released a documentary featuring testimonies from former associates of TB Joshua, accusing him of both segxwal and physical assault during his lifetime.

The action by YouTube against the ministry’s TV further puts the fate of SCOAN in suspense following the revelations that have trailed the actions of its late founder while he was alive.
