Senator Jarigbe, representing Cross River North, abruptly ended a live interview on Arise TV after being pressed about the 2024 budget. During the interview, the senator asserted, “I no want wahala,” indicating his reluctance to engage in the topic.

When questioned about the budget, Senator Jarigbe emphasized his focus on immediate priorities, such as expressing gratitude and serving his constituents. He firmly stated that he preferred to steer clear of the budget discussion, warning the presenter that he would walk away if pressed further on the matter.

The senator’s response comes amidst heightened sensitivity surrounding discussions on the 2024 budget, following the suspension of Senator Abdul Ningi for comments related to budget padding. GWG.ng suggests that Senator Jarigbe may be exercising caution to avoid potential controversy.

The decision by Senator Jarigbe to walk out of the Arise News interview underlines the complexities and sensitivities surrounding budget-related discussions in Nigeria’s political landscape.

It follows the unanimity of senators of both the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to suspend Senator Ningi after he brought to the fore controversies over the 2024 budget.
