Yakubu Gowon Meets Tinubu In Aso Villa 

President Bola Tinubu is currently in a closed-door meeting with former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retd.) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Gowon arrived at the forecourt of the President’s office at  some minutes past 2pm where Tinubu personally received him.

This is the first private meeting between the former Head of State and the President since the later assumed office nine months ago.

The reason for the meeting is not yet public. 

Gowon, Nigeria’s Head of State from August 1966 to July 1975, currently serves in the Council of State.
