Ondo 2024: Guber Aspirant Steps Down For Olusola Oke

Ayodeji Oritedi, an aspirant for the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Ondo State, has withdrawn from the race in favor of Chief Olusola Oke. The party’s primary election is set for next month, ahead of the November general election.

Oritedi announced his decision during the inauguration of ward and constituency coordinators for Oke’s campaign in Akure, the state capital.

He expressed his belief that Oke’s candidacy is divinely endorsed, and he urged his supporters to join forces with Oke’s campaign organization. In his address, Oke charged the coordinators to ensure his success in the upcoming primary, emphasizing the importance of grassroots mobilization. He asserted his vision for Ondo state, pledging to prioritize development, job creation, poverty reduction, and infrastructure improvement.

Oke’s campaign director general, Bailey Arohunmolase, urged the coordinators to remain steadfast and not be swayed by false endorsements. Former Ondo State House of Assembly member, Oyebo Aladetaan, reiterated support for Oke in the southern senatorial district and called on others to join them. Aladetaan praised Oke’s track record of service and empathy, citing his contributions to education and community development.

Amidst the preparations for the primary election, Oke reiterated his confidence in securing the APC ticket. He urged his supporters to spread his message across every corner of the state, emphasizing the need for unity and determination in achieving their goals. Oke emphasized that his ambition to lead Ondo state stems from a genuine desire to foster development and prosperity for all citizens.

The withdrawal of Ayodeji Oritedi and the subsequent endorsement of Chief Olusola Oke mark a significant development in the APC’s gubernatorial race in Ondo state.
