An 18-year-old student from Fairfax County, Virginia, Steven Lee Snyder, has been arrested in Phuket, Thailand, after allegedly sexually assaulting a pregnant horse named Angun.

CCTV footage captured on two occasions, February 5 and March 10, showed Snyder appearing to force his fist into the mare’s vagina while holding a smartphone in his other hand. The horse’s owners, Chatcharoj Lek-Awut, 50, and his wife Prapada, 43, expressed shock and distress upon discovering the unsettling incident upon their return from a trip on March 10.

Authorities were alerted, and Snyder was apprehended the following evening. Communication with him reportedly required the use of Google Translate. He was subsequently taken to his father, Sean, who viewed the disturbing footage.

In a video outside their villa, Sean expressed concern, noting that this wasn’t the first time such behavior had been observed. Prapada initially believed Snyder was an animal lover but grew suspicious when she noticed his inappropriate interactions with the horses, prompting her to install CCTV cameras.

Prapada reported the incident to the police after observing discharge from Angun’s vagina, indicating potential harm. She voiced concerns about previous incidents involving another pregnant horse, which allegedly led to a miscarriage.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Yuthaphon stated that negotiations between Snyder’s family and the horse owners are scheduled for March 16 to address potential medical expenses for the injured horse and ensure a resolution satisfactory to both parties.

Prapada emphasized the need for Snyder to seek help and cease such behavior, expressing a desire to prevent future incidents and protect the welfare of the animals
