Ningi suspension two weeks

Constituents of Bauchi Central Senatorial District have expressed strong condemnation on the Senate’s decision to suspend their representative, Senator Abdul Ningi, for three months. They believe the suspension stems from his sincere efforts to address irregularities in the 2024 national budget.

The Youth Coalition of Bauchi Central Senatorial District, led by its chairman Nazeef Abdullahi Rio, held a press conference in Bauchi to voice their disapproval. They urged the Senate to reverse the suspension and instead investigate the irregularities raised by Senator Ningi for the benefit of the nation.

Rio emphasized that if the Senate fails to heed their demand within two weeks, they will pursue legal action to safeguard their constitutional rights. He criticized the Senate for unjustly denying Senator Ningi his rights and described the suspension as a grave injustice to both the Senator and their Senatorial district.

Furthermore, the coalition expressed shock at divisive comments made by some senators, particularly Senator Jimoh Ibrahim and Senate Leader Senator Michael Bamidele, regarding Senator Ningi and the Northern region. They called for withdrawal of these statements and urged an apology to Senator Ningi and all Northerners to foster unity and peace in the country.

The constituents declared their unwavering support for Senator Ningi, applauding him for championing their views and fighting for their rights. They demanded a thorough investigation into all alleged irregularities in the 2024 budget to prevent exploitation of Nigerians and to uphold the Senate’s integrity.

Should the Senate fail to meet their demands within the stipulated timeframe, the constituents affirmed their readiness to pursue legal recourse to ensure their constitutional rights are upheld.
