‘They Don’t Know Arithmetic,’ Tinubu Bombs Budget Padding Claims (Video)

President Bola Tinubu has formally reacted to the budget padding allegation raised over the 2024 budget of the Federal Government saying that the purveyors of the allegation do not understand arithmetics.

GWG.ng reports that Tinubu spoke when he hosted the leadership of the Senate to a dinner to break the Ramadan fast at the State House on Thursday in Abuja.

“I know the arithmetic of the numbers that I brought to the Senate and I know what I brought back. And I appreciate all of you for the expeditious handling of the budget. Thank you very much.”

“Talking about malicious embellishments of the budget, they didn’t understand the arithmetic and they didn’t refer to the numbers, the baseline of what I brought.

Tinubu said that the integrity of the National Assembly must remain intact and that his administration would always encourage cooperation for the advancement of the nation.

“I am very grateful for what you have been doing. The national challenge that we face will be over. 

“The economic challenge, we are about turning the corner. Our revenue is improved. And you can see reflected in the sub-national. 

“All we have to do is to control expenditure and manage ourselves better,” the President said.
