Nigerian Police Apprehend Suspect for Stealing 23 Cows
The Gombe State Police Command has successfully arrested a 23-year-old man, Adamu Maikudi, over his alleged involvement in the theft of 23 cows in Golombi village, located within the Shongom Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect, a resident of Mai Rana village in Billiri Local Government Area, was apprehended by law enforcement authorities for his role in the brazen theft, while efforts to locate and apprehend two other suspects involved in the crime are ongoing.
According to Assistant Superintendent of Police Mahid Muazu Abubakar, the Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Maikudi is alleged to have unlawfully sold the 23 cows, which belonged to Anchau Maishanu.
Following a report filed by Maishanu at the Pero Chonge Divisional Police headquarters, detailing the theft of his livestock from Golombi village, an investigation was swiftly launched. It revealed that Maikudi, along with his accomplices, orchestrated the theft and subsequently sold the cattle.
“Maishanu reported at Pero Chonge Divisional Police headquarters that three suspects, including Maikudi, conspired among themselves and stole his 23 cows from Golombi village and sold them,” stated Mahid.
In response to the report, authorities took prompt action, leading to the arrest of Maikudi and the recovery of all stolen exhibits.
