Terry G Confirms: ‘I Sing For The Devil’

Gabriel Amanyi, the Nigerian singer better known as Terry G, says he sings for the “devil”.

Speaking in the latest episode of the Honest Bunch podcast, Terry G argued that secular musicians do not “glorify God but the devil”.

“I am a secular musician. I sing for the devil. We sing for the devil. We praise the devil. We do not glorify God. You think sey all these things wey we dey do na God we dey do am for?” he said.

The 38-year-old also claimed most of his peers “are illiterates”.

He argued that the type of songs made by Wizkid do not relate to Nigerian audiences.

“To be a bad guy in this music game you have to know how to knack. Wizkid, his music no dey too relate to us,” he said.

“Most of my colleagues from my set are illiterates. Burna na their king. Dem dey learn?

“I beat am. Pass Me Your Love, I sang the hook on the song. I had a verse in the song. He brought the idea of the ‘pass me your love eh’.”

Terry G is widely known for his eccentric dress sense and controversial lyrics.

The bell-wielding singer is also nicknamed “Akpako Master”, “Ginjah Master”, “Hitman, G.zuz”, and “Terry G.zus”.

GWG.ng reports that in January, Terry G announced he was quitting music “for personal reasons”.
