Edo: How Impeached Deputy Governor, Shaibu Prayed For Successor To Be Greater Than Him (Video)

A video of a seemingly prophetic encounter between the just impeached deputy governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu and his successor, Marvelous Godwins has emerged with the former blessing his successor to be greater than him.
In the undated video, the two men were seen under a canopy in a public ceremony with Philip Shaibu energetically blessing Godwins that he would progress to be better and greater than him.
GWG.ng reports that Shaibu was impeached as deputy governor of Edo State on Monday, April 8, 2024 and immediately replaced by Godwins following a recommendation to the State House of Assembly by Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Godwins was confirmed and immediately inaugurated as deputy governor replacing Shaibu.
Hours after the development, a video emerged on X, formerly Twitter which showed the former deputy governor and his successor standing in a public ceremony that saw Shaibu blessing Godwins.
Speaking in Pidgin English, Shaibu said:
He (Godwins) go go from strength to strength and from glory to glory. Because me senior am, so him suppose better pass me and grow pass me! Abi? That’s why the prayer wen I pray for am be say e go betta and him go grow pass me.
The circumstances of the occasion that saw Shaibu blessing Godwins have not been revealed but the video has been engaging members of the public.
