Former Governor Mourns As Son Collapses, Dies After Eid Prayer

Hon. Mohammed Idris, a former member of the House of Representatives from Kogi State, and son of former Governor of Kogi State, Ibrahim Idris has died.

Hon. Mohammed Idris collapsed and died in his residence shortly after returning from the Eid-el-Fitr prayer in Abuja on Wednesday.

His untimely demise is a shock to many, especially considering his prominent family background and his previous role as a lawmaker representing the Ankpa, Olamaboro, and Omala Federal Constituency of Kogi State during his father’s tenure as governor.

Having served as a member of the House of Representatives, Mohammed Idris was known for his contributions to governance and public service. His sudden death has left a void in both the political and social spheres of Kogi State, as he was regarded as a dedicated leader and advocate for the welfare of his constituents. His passing is mourned by many who knew him personally and professionally, reflecting on his legacy of service to the people.

Following Islamic tradition, Hon. Mohammed Idris was laid to rest at the Gudu Cemetery after a funeral prayer attended by a large gathering of mourners at the National Mosque in Abuja. The somber occasion witnessed an outpouring of condolences and tributes from friends, family, and colleagues, highlighting the impact and influence that Hon. Mohammed had in his community and beyond.
