BSc In Law Saga: Drama As Pastor Eneche Stops Testimony, GWG Uncovers University Error

A video capturing the confrontation between the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Church, Dr Paul Enenche, and a testifier over her attainment of a BSc degree in law during Sunday service has ignited a firestorm of controversy across social media platforms.

In the clip, Pastor Enenche was seen halting the testimony of a woman who claimed to have graduated with a ‘BSc in Law,’ accusing her of falsehood and instructing her to cease her testimony immediately.

The pastor’s pointed criticism centered on the woman’s proficiency in English, questioning her claim of being a graduate based on her language skills. However, it was her assertion of obtaining a ‘BSc in Law’ that drew the most scrutiny, with Pastor Enenche expressing incredulity at the notion of law being conferred as a Bachelor’s of Science(BSc), rather than the customary LLB (Bachelor of Laws).

The video swiftly went viral, eliciting a flurry of responses from viewers. While some condemned the woman for allegedly fabricating her academic achievements, others criticized Pastor Enenche for publicly shaming her.

Delving deeper into the matter, GWG.ng conducted an investigative inquiry into the woman’s academic background. It was revealed that she had recently celebrated her graduation from the National Open University of Nigeria on April 12, 2024, via a post on her Facebook page.

However, the specific course of study was not mentioned in her celebratory post but GWG.ng investigation revealed that she is currently number 2262 on the University graduation list of the school as LLB graduate.

Further investigation uncovered a discrepancy on the official website of NOUN, where it initially listed ‘BSc in Law’ among its offerings. Subsequently, it was revealed that this listing was an error, promptly corrected by the university when the issue was escalated on social media. Screenshots circulating on social media by vigilant netizens captured the moment of correction, suggesting a potential oversight on the part of the institution.
