A Brazilian man, Marcos Paulino, surrendered to authorities after confessing to the murder of his wife, Tatiéle de Cássia, alleging that he was provoked by a bite during a sexual encounter.

According to statements given to the São Paulo Civil Police, Paulino claimed that his wife bit one of his fingers during an intimate moment, which angered him. He admitted to waiting until she fell asleep before fatally attacking her with a kitchen knife at their home in Caconde.

Civil Police chief João Delfino revealed that Paulino fled the scene but later surrendered himself to a local Military Police station after hiding in the countryside for a period. Authorities discovered de Cássia’s body with stab wounds to the chest and neck upon investigation.

In a disturbing detail, Paulino confessed to having used cocaine prior to the murder. The couple had been in a relationship since October 2023 and had moved in together in January.

Paulino now faces a femicide charge, which carries a potential prison sentence of 12 to 30 years if convicted. The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the urgent need for addressing issues of domestic violence and substance abuse.

The case of the man and his confession to the murder of his wife is now set to be determined by the courts where his alibi will be interrogated.
