Former Super Eagles' Ibrahim Babangida dies in Car accident

The nation has been thrown into a rude shock following the death of former Nigerian Super Eagles’ star, Ibrahim Babangida, in a car accident.

GWG.ng reports that the unfortunate car accident which occured along Zaria road, also involved the ex-Super Eagles brother, Tijani, his wife, son and maid.

Remarkably, only Babangida died in the auto accident, while others who were with him were taken to the hospital, where they are responding to treatment.

Tijani is president of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN).

According to The Nation, a statement by the General Secretary of (PFAN), Emmanuel Babayaro, confirmed Babangida died in the crash.

Fans took to their X accounts to pen tribute messages for Babangida and raise prayers for his surviving family.

GWG.ng reports that Ibrahim Babangida was one of the heroes who won glory for Nigeria in the 1996 Olympics.
