A tense situation unfolded at Banex Plaza in Abuja, as shop owners have begun closing their stores in fear of retaliation after a group of individuals known as Banex Boys allegedly assaulted two soldiers in uniform.

The incident, captured in a viral video, showed police officers intervening to rescue them.

Eyewitnesses report that the shop owners in panic and anticipating a potential backlash from soldiers who they fear could regroup and return to the plaza.

GWG.ng reports that the swift closure of stores might be a precautionary measure to avoid any potential violence or destruction of property.
