Tapswap Denies Banning Nigerian Users, Explains Access Problems

Published

In a move to address growing concerns, cryptocurrency mining company Tapswap has issued a statement reassuring Nigerian users that they have not been banned from using the app.

Recent reports indicated that some Nigerians were experiencing difficulties accessing the Telegram coin mining app, sparking fears of a potential ban.

However, Tapswap has attributed the access issues to technical challenges, specifically citing Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks from the region that has limited its Nigerian users from the app.

In a statement released on X on Friday, May 24, Tapswap explained that verification measures were put in place to mitigate these attacks, but assured its Nigerian users that this is only a temporary measure.

“We want to clarify that we have no plans to limit access to our Nigerian users,” the statement read. “We appreciate every member of our global community and welcome them to our platform. We will disable the verification requirement once our infrastructure is fully adapted. Thank you for your understanding and support.”

GWG.ng reports that this clarification will come as a relief to Nigerian users who were concerned about being excluded from the Tapswap app. Tapswap’s commitment to inclusivity and its efforts to address technical issues will likely be appreciated by its user base, both in Nigeria and worldwide.
