A viral video has sparked a heated online debate after Nollywood actor and filmmaker Ibrahim Chatta threatened to arrest one of his staff members for injuring his pregnant horse. The incident occurred at his film village in Oyo State, where Chatta confronted the staff member, who was seen kneeling and begging for forgiveness.

Ibrahim Chatta revealed that he had previously sacked the staff member twice but rehired him due to his mother’s pleas. However, the staff member’s latest actions, which Chatta described as animal cruelty, have led to a stern warning. The staff member had stabbed Chatta’s horse while attempting to capture it, despite the horse’s gentle nature.

Social media users are divided in their reactions, with some criticizing Ibrahim Chatta for prioritizing his horse’s well-being over his staff member’s livelihood. Others have praised Chatta for standing up against animal cruelty and holding his staff member accountable.

Read some netizens reactions to Ibrahim Chatta and his staff member below;

@ Jurell02:Vanity upon vanity

@Clay Zo:This is animal cruelty; how can you do this to an animal? Go try am for abroad if dem no go arrest you make I know why. Abeg arrest him, he can be causing menace to someone’s business

@Nedugcfr: Abuse of power. Nawa oo, you wan lock humans because of animal

@Ilerioluwa: No now. This is really a wicked thing to do.
People are really badly behaved, mehn. I remember a time when he just bought the horses and some died that; he made a video of how much he bought them and all… I honestly can feel his pain. The guy needs to be taught some lesson.

@Amaka Amina: Please let him get a good vet that can begin treatment on the horse. Let him get the guy arrested and allow the police to do their job. People really don’t learn because when they do bad, they have someone or people that will beg for them or they will start calling God.

@Oluwatimileyin: This is sad. Many people are so cruel to animals in this part of the world, and it’s sad. I hope an example is made out of him and others learn their lesson”.

As the debate continues, it remains to be seen how Chatta will proceed with the situation, and whether his staff member will face legal consequences for his actions.
