Davido Seeks Full Custody of Daughter Imade, Accuses Sophia Momodu of Making Outrageous Demands

Nigerian music star Davido has reignited his legal battle with his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu, over the custody of their nine-year-old daughter, Imade Aurora Adeleke. In a petition filed at the Lagos State High Court on April 17, 2024, Davido cited Sophia’s alleged ‘unreasonable demands and cruelty’ for his decision to seek full custody of their daughter, Imade.

According to the petition, Davido has been responsible for Imade’s education, paying her school fees and providing for her educational needs. He also claims to have provided financial support for Sophia’s accommodation, despite her rejecting his offer to stay in a secured apartment he purchased.

Davido alleges that Sophia has made excessive demands, including $800 per month for a nanny and a lump sum of $19,600 per annum. He also claims that Sophia refused to inform him about Imade’s two-week absence from school and instead made excuses.

Despite his efforts to provide for Imade’s well-being, Davido accuses Sophia of inflicting pain and cruelty upon him. He has provided two vehicles, a Range Rover Sport Utility Vehicle and a Highlander SUV, for Imade’s transportation and has committed to paying for living expenses, nanny fees, medical care, insurance, and international travel expenses.

Davido’s lawyers, Dr. Olaniyi Arije, Okey Barrah, and others, are seeking the court’s intervention to grant him full custody of Imade, citing his commitment to her welfare and Sophia’s alleged unreasonable behavior.
