Psquare’s Paul Okoye Breaks Silence After EFCC Saga
Award-winning singer Paul Okoye, one half of the famous music duo Psquare, has spoken out after being cleared by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Last June, controversial blogger Stella Dimokokorkus alleged a brewing conflict between the Psquare brothers and their elder brother, Jude Okoye, over alleged misappropriation of joint funds.
She claimed an insider revealed that a company’s interest in acquiring Psquare’s music catalogue unearthed financial discrepancies. The EFCC was reportedly involved, with Jude Okoye reportedly detained before intervention by NFF President Amaju Pinnick.
Recently, Instagram blogger Cutie Juls alleged that both Paul and Jude Okoye had been arrested by the EFCC. Following his release, Paul took to Instagram to celebrate his clearance, affirming that his wealth comes from his music career.
“All clear, Eagle eyes. I no thief ohh, na just good music dey pay,” Paul wrote. He also announced his return to music with a promise of new releases next week, saying, “Now, let’s get back to the music. Next week!! New music!!! Vitamin D.”
GWG.ng reports that this comes after Psquare’s much-publicized reconciliation in December 2021, ending a five-year feud. The brothers’ reunion was widely celebrated, with both following each other on social media and appearing together in public. They credited Chief Tony Elumelu for mediating their reconciliation and expressed gratitude to their fans during their first joint performance in four years on December 25, 2021.
The Psquare brothers are now set to focus on their music, with fans eagerly anticipating new releases from the iconic duo.
