Nigerians have taken to their social media handles to put the Police in Lagos on notice in its investigation of the rape of a 14-year-old teenager allegedly by her landlord’s son.

The case has also been clouded by her mother’s refusal to corporate in the investigation.

An X-user had earlier shared a video of the victim on social media showing blood around her priv@te area. The X-user alleged that the landlord had threatened that nothing will be done to his son.

Nigerians took to social media to call on the authorities to fish out the suspect and prosecute him.

However in an update given on Tuesday evening, the spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin Hundeyin, said the police were able to locate the house where the incident allegedly happened and met the absence of the victim, the suspect and the said let andlord.

Hundeyin added that the mother of the victim was contacted but was unwilling to cooperate with the police.

‘’UPDATE: The house has been located in conjunction with @Lagosdsva. The landlord is not home. The suspect is not home, neither is the survivor nor her family home.

“The survivor’s mum has been contacted on phone but she is not willing to cooperate with the police. Also, everyone on the street has declined assisting the police in any form. Radio silence!”

Hundeyin’s update on the rape case of the teenager further fueled more plea from netizens for the police not to quickly give up. Majority opined that the mother’s unwillingness to cooperate is not a true reflection of her mind because they are both under threats.
