Suspect Arrested in Rape Case of 14-Year-Old Girl

A suspect accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in the Alakuko area of Lagos State has been arrested, according to the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency.

The arrest was confirmed on Friday, August 16, in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter).

The agency announced that the young survivor is currently receiving comprehensive medical care, while the suspect is in police custody as investigations continue.

In the statement, the agency expressed gratitude to the public for bringing attention to the distressing case, saying, “We appreciate everyone who reported the tragic incident of child sexual abuse in Alakuko, Lagos. We are working closely with the Lagos State Police to ensure justice is served.”

Earlier this week, concerned residents took to social media to highlight the case, alleging that a 14-year-old girl had been raped by her landlord in the Alakuko area. Their outcry prompted swift action from the authorities, leading to the suspect’s arrest and ongoing investigation.
