Osimhen Erases All References To Napoli On His Profile
Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen has shown that he is still unhappy with his former club, Napoli doing so by removing all references to Napoli from his X (formerly Twitter) profile and replaced them with content related to Turkish club Galatasaray.
The move was a surprise since Osimhen is still under contract with Napoli until 2027, meaning he could return to the Italian club after his loan spell ends this season.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan after a failed move to Chelsea. The 25-year-old striker couldn’t join the Premier League club due to a disagreement over wages.
As he waits to make his debut for Galatasaray after the international break, Osimhen made changes to his X page. This update was prompted by a suggestion from a user named Pink Tony, who asked him to update his bio. Initially, some users disagreed with the change, but Osimhen eventually updated his profile to identify himself as a Galatasaray and Super Eagles player.
The changes also included a new display picture of him in a Galatasaray jersey, though his face is cropped out. He also updated his banner image, showing him wearing the number 45 jersey while holding his daughter. Many fans see this as a fresh start for the striker.
Osimhen’s departure from Napoli, where he played a key role in helping the team win the Serie A title, wasn’t without controversy. His relationship with the club worsened when he expressed his desire to leave, leading to his exclusion from their pre-season and early Serie A matches.
Osimhen is expected to make his debut for Galatasaray on September 15 in a Turkish Super Lig match against Rizespor. Fans are eagerly awaiting his first appearance for the team.
