Adeboye Spiritual Duties romance

Revered Nigerian pastor, Enoch Adeboye has emphasized the importance of keeping romance alive in marriages even for those with plenty anointing.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has advised Christian couples not to let their spiritual responsibilities overshadow romance and their marital duties to their spouses.

In a post on his official X account, Pastor Adeboye shared that he and his wife, Foluke, continue to express their love through pet names when they are alone together. He highlighted that being anointed does not diminish the need for romance, asserting that marriage is unique in allowing intimacy between a man and a woman.

The pastor cautioned couples against being too rigid in their relationships and encouraged them not to seek fun outside of their marriage. He stated, “The fact that you are a Christian does not in any way take the romance out of your marriage. Marriage is the only institution where romance and intimacy are allowed between a man and a woman.”

Adeboye pointed out that some pastors often neglect to date their spouses, viewing romantic outings as distractions from their spiritual duties. He noted that many of them have stopped engaging in playful activities with their partners.

“Beloved, the anointing does not reduce the need for romance in marriage,” he said, citing the biblical example of Isaac. In Genesis 26:8, it is written that Isaac was romantic with his wife, Rebecca, showing that even a man of God can maintain a loving relationship.

He concluded with a heartfelt reminder: “Don’t become too rigid in your marriage; don’t have more fun elsewhere without your spouse. Make the times that you and your spouse spend together so much fun that you are always looking forward to seeing each other again.”
