Ancelotti Mbappe penalty

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has voiced his full support for Kylian Mbappe after the forward missed a crucial penalty in their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.

The game, held at Anfield, was filled with intense moments and high stakes for both teams.

The pivotal moment came when MbappĂ© stepped up to take a penalty that could have leveled the score after Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister had already put the home side ahead. However, Mbappé’s effort lacked power, allowing Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher to make a comfortable save, preserving Liverpool’s advantage.

Adding to the drama, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah also missed a penalty later in the game, blasting his shot over the crossbar. Moments after Salah’s miss, Cody Gakpo capitalized on a corner, scoring Liverpool’s second goal and securing their victory.

In his post-match comments, Ancelotti stood firmly behind Mbappe, offering words of encouragement despite the disappointing result. “Mbappe has all of our support, and he will turn the situation around soon. He’s an exceptional player, and we need to show patience. He is adapting well to the team’s dynamics, and we are with him during this tough moment,” Ancelotti said following the Mpappe miss.

The Real Madrid coach also took a moment to praise Liverpool, calling them the team’s “most difficult” opponent in the Champions League. He emphasized the challenge of facing such a strong rival, particularly in a competitive environment like Anfield.
